Mentor guidance combined with ample resources led to me learn how to apply my mathematical skills. I also learned to code like never before. While I still learn new skills on the job, the foundations were important. Weekly updates to excitedly discuss capstone projects were the bulk of my interactions with my mentor.
One challenge was the technical interview at the end of the course. But after finding a collection of study tools on the web and developing some of my own study questions, I improved and passed.
As a cycling enthusiast, I decided to tackle the Capital Bikeshare data set available in the UCI Repository. I decided to try to better understand usage statistics and customer segmentation. After doing so, I recommended a strategy for the company to use to advertise to different segments more effectively:
