I was an operations supervisor for a health insurance company. I worked closely with my company's analytics team and grew to appreciate their work. I wanted a position that I could grow in both intellectually and financially.
A friend of mine was looking into data science as well and Springboard was one of the programs she was looking into. I checked Springboard out and decided they were the company for me.

It was as challenging as it was rewarding. I learned a lot about myself and data science. While difficult at times, I found balancing work and Springboard manageable. My mentor was extremely helpful. I appreciated that he provided resources over answers to the questions I had. This made my accomplishments within the program feel earned.
A challenge was learning to walk away and come back to problems. Springboard taught me that it's good to step away when you're stuck to allow new ideas time to grow.
Predicting Health Plan Tier: I picked this project as I have worked in the healthcare industry my entire adult career. I looked at predicting health plan tier enrollments based on county demographics. I was able to build predictive models for each health insurance tier.
I am working as a healthcare analyst in a larger health insurance company. I'm planning on going for my masters in BA or DS because the new company I work for both subsidizes and refunds education while working for the company. Because of Springboard, I was able to land a great job that will allow me to develop my skills and grow professionally even further!
