What is the Accelerate Program?
In cities across the country, Microsoft is launching Accelerate to offer digital skills training and professional development resources to help individuals progress in their careers.
Together with government, community, skilling, and corporate partners, Microsoft’s Accelerate initiative helps to close the digital skills gap and build a more inclusive workforce.
The initiative provides access to in-demand digital skills that unlock new career opportunities, remove barriers for underserved communities, and upskill and cross-skill existing digitally fluent populations.
How do I qualify?
For Atlanta Applicants: do you live in Clayton, Coweta, DeKalb, Fulton, Heard, or Meriwether counties? For New York City Applicants: do you live in Bronx, Kings, Queens, New York, or Richmond counties? For Houston Applicants: do you live in Liberty, Chambers, Brazoria, Galveston, Waller, Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery, or Austin counties? For Chicago Applicants: do you live in Cook County? If yes, you may be eligible depending on your zip code (more details in the FAQ section)For Miami Applicants: do you live in Miami-Dade County? If yes, you may be eligible depending on your zip code (more details in the FAQ section)If you qualify based on one of the residency criteria above, we may take into account financial need: Have you been unemployed for over three months? We’ve partnered with CompTIA, the world's leading cybersecurity association to create this program. You’ll graduate with a CompTIA Security+ Certification which is chosen by more corporations and defense organizations to validate security skills than any other.
CompTIA's Security+ certification lays the groundwork for specialized career paths in cybersecurity. It covers core technical skills in risk assessment and management, incident response, forensics, enterprise networks, hybrid/cloud operations, and security controls.
Our curriculum includes preparation modules, practice exams and the CompTIA certification fee.

Is this program right for me?
This cybersecurity bootcamp is beginner-friendly and does not require any prior cybersecurity experience. All education levels, fields of study and work experiences are welcome.
Requirements
Pass an evaluation of baseline soft-skills, centered around communication, motivation, professionalism, a commitment to learning and an analytical mindset.

Springboard’s virtual programs are free or heavily discounted by the Accelerate initiative for qualified residents of the cities we partner with, who register through this site. Based on the criteria below, you may qualify for a 100% subsidy:

The Cybersecurity Career Track is a 360+ hour course. We've built a curriculum to teach you what you should know to land a job. The course length will vary for each student since the course is entirely self-paced. We expect most students will finish the course in 6 months working at ~15-20 hours per week.
